Terms of service
Last updated 12 October 2026
These terms apply to everyone who uses Vine Culture. If you create an account, you agree to them when you sign up. If you use the site without an account, you accept them by using it. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
1. Who we are
Vine Culture is operated by Vine Culture Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17474154. Its registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. You can reach us at hello@vineculture.co.uk.
2. The service
Vine Culture helps you find wineries in England and Wales, plan visits to them, and keep a record of the ones you have been to. We are an independent guide. We are not a booking agent, a travel agent, or a seller of wine, and we have no commercial relationship with the great majority of the wineries listed.
We do not take bookings or payments. When you book a tasting, a tour, an event, a table, a taxi or a place to stay, you book it directly with that business, on its terms. The contract is between you and that business, and we are not a party to it. We cannot confirm, change, cancel or refund a booking, and questions or complaints about one should go to the business concerned.
Visits and trips you plan with Vine Culture are yours to arrange and carry out. We do not organise, run or supervise them, and we are not responsible for your travel, for the premises or activities of any business you visit, or for anything a business provides or fails to provide, including its prices, availability, safety, or any decision to cancel or refuse entry.
3. You must be 18 or over
This site is about visiting wineries and drinking wine. You must be 18 or over to create an account, and you confirm that you are when you sign up. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18 we will close it.
4. Your account
- Give us accurate details when you sign up, and keep them up to date.
- Your account is yours alone. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think somebody else has got into your account.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, unless it happens because of something we did wrong.
- You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We will delete it as described in the privacy policy.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Write anything that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or a deliberate lie about a business
- Post a review of a winery you have not visited, or a rating intended to harm or flatter rather than to describe
- Scrape, bulk-download or systematically copy the content of the site, or try to extract our data for a competing product
- Attempt to get into parts of the site, or anybody else’s account, that you have not been given access to
- Interfere with how the site runs — overloading it, circumventing rate limits, or probing it for weaknesses without our written permission
- Upload anything malicious, or impersonate somebody else
Please report security problems to hello@vineculture.co.uk.
6. Your content
Your reviews, notes, tasting notes and trips remain yours. You keep ownership of them entirely.
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy and display what you post, for the purpose of operating and promoting Vine Culture. That licence lasts only as long as you leave the content on the site, and ends when you delete it or close your account — subject to the one exception about ratings and winery averages described in the privacy policy.
Private things stay private. The notes you write about a visit, the number of bottles you bought and your tasting notes are yours to see and are not shown to anybody else. Ratings contribute to a winery’s average score. A written review is marked as public and may be shown alongside that winery in future, without your name attached — it is not displayed anywhere today.
You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm that you have the right to post it. We may remove content that breaks these terms, and we will normally tell you why.
7. Our content
The site, its text and design, and our database of winery information belong to Vine Culture Ltd or are used under licence, and are protected by copyright and database right. You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy or reuse its content except as these terms allow.
You may not extract or reuse all or a substantial part of our winery database, whether at once or by repeated small extractions, by any means, including automated tools and direct requests to the services the site is built on. Search engines and AI services may crawl and index our pages, including to train their models, and may quote them to answer a question, with a link back to us. Our robots.txt file sets out which parts of the site crawlers may visit.
8. Accuracy of information
Check with the winery before you travel.
Information about wineries and their events comes from the wineries themselves: from their own websites and booking pages, from the newsletters and emails they send, and from information they send us directly, including corrections. Award results come from the competitions that award them. Accommodation search results come from Stay22 at the time you search, and details of taxi firms and railway stations come from public directories and datasets.
It is nonetheless incomplete and will sometimes be out of date or wrong. Many wineries have no opening hours, tasting price or booking rule recorded, and where those details are shown they may have changed since we checked them. Opening times, prices, availability, booking requirements, and whether a winery is open to visitors at all can change without our knowing.
Distances, journey times and routes are estimates for planning, not directions. Awards reflect a particular wine in a particular year.
Nothing on the site constitutes advice, and you should not treat it as such.
If you run a winery and something about it is wrong, tell us at hello@vineculture.co.uk and we will correct it.
9. Third-party sites and affiliate links
The site links to wineries, booking systems, accommodation and other third parties. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for them, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you get there.
We may earn a commission if you book accommodation through a link on Vine Culture. It never changes the price you pay, and it never affects which places we show you or the order we show them in. If that ever stops being true we will say so here before it does.
10. Availability and changes
We will try to keep the site running, but we do not promise that it will be available uninterrupted or free of faults. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it. Where a change would materially affect you — particularly anything that would delete what you have recorded — we will give you notice.
We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date at the top, and we will tell you directly about any change that materially affects you.
11. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected by anything here.
Beyond that, and because Vine Culture is provided free of charge: we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for business losses, or for loss arising from your relying on information on the site in the way section 8 asks you not to. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of a winery, a taxi firm, an accommodation provider or any other business you find through us, or for loss arising from a booking you make with one of them or from a visit or trip you make.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the site and close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that is breaking these terms, and we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond unless the circumstances make that inappropriate. If we close your account you can ask us for a copy of what you recorded.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own country’s courts.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
