Halfpenny Green Wine Estate

Halfpenny Green Wine Estate

Halfpenny Green Wine Estate is a family-run South Staffordshire vineyard whose winery also makes wine under contract for more than 80 other vineyards.

Named Midlands & North Trophy at the WineGB Awards 2025.

Martin Vickers planted the first half-acre in 1983, and the vineyard he started now covers thirty acres of south-facing slopes, in light, sandy, free-draining soil. His son Clive now makes the wine, working with sixteen grape varieties: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for the sparkling wines, and weather-hardy grapes bred for a cooler climate, among them Bacchus.
