Helme Edge Vineyard
Helme Edge Vineyard is a small family vineyard above Meltham, West Yorkshire, run by three generations of one family with a view over the Pennines.
Solaris and Cabernet Cortis, PIWI varieties bred to need less spraying, are the grapes behind Helme Edge Vineyard, on a slope above Meltham run by three generations of one family with a view west over the Pennines. It began with fifty Solaris vines planted in the garden in 2017, on a steep, west-facing slope of water-retentive clay.
Tastings are led by a family member in the tasting room, with wine and homemade nibbles, and in winter a Yorkshire cheese plate. Booking is required for every visit; there is no walk-in access, and cars are asked to carry at least two people.
