Rowton Vineyard

Rowton Vineyard

Rowton's vines are the newest addition to a three-generation Shropshire farm near Shrewsbury, with cellar-door sales, tastings and tours by appointment.

Twin sisters Melissa and Zoë planted five acres of vines on a south-east-facing slope at Whiston in May 2020, sheltered from the prevailing south-westerly wind by a treeline, on free-draining sandy silt loam over sandstone and Cardeston rock. The vineyard is the latest diversification of the family's Shropshire farm, worked for three generations since their grandfather arrived in 1963.
