Adgestone Vineyard

Adgestone Vineyard

Planted in 1968 on the Isle of Wight, Adgestone Vineyard has subterranean cellars and a bistro on a raised deck with sea views.

Adgestone Vineyard was planted in 1968 by Ken Barlow on the Isle of Wight, on chalky south-facing slopes with an almost frost-free microclimate, the estate says. The original Seyval Blanc vines from that planting are still in the ground. The estate says the Romans grew vines on these slopes some 2,000 years ago, and in 2013 it planted 120 vines at Brading Roman Villa, 200 metres down the road.

Cellar door tastings

Open to walk-ins

The vineyard is open to walk in, Wednesday to Sunday, with no booking needed for tours, tastings or the al fresco bistro. A standalone tasting lesson, without the vineyard walk, runs 20 minutes.
