Albourne Estate
Albourne Estate is a family-run vineyard and winery near Brighton, producing sparkling and still wines and one of the first English vermouths.
Albourne Estate was established in 2010 by Alison Nightingale and Nick Cooper. Alison had trained for it directly: she stepped back from her career in 2004 and, while raising two young children, completed a Viticulture & Enology degree at Plumpton College before the couple found their site outside Brighton.
The Tasting Room is walk-in, no booking needed, seated under a tipi or in the Old Dairy. A separate guided vineyard tour and tasting, and a self-guided trail, run alongside it. Groups over six should book ahead.
Guided Wine Tasting
The estate gives a what3words location (///affair.blogs.gossiping) alongside its postal address. Visitors who arrive on foot or by bike are offered free home delivery of any wine bought that day.
