Camel Valley

Camel Valley

Camel Valley is a family-run vineyard in Nanstallon, near Bodmin, planted by an ex-RAF pilot and his wife in 1989 and now made by their son, the second-generation winemaker.

Bob Lindo, an ex-RAF pilot, and his wife Annie bought their Nanstallon farm to raise a young family and initially kept sheep and cattle; watching the valley's slopes turn brown each summer, they planted the first eight thousand vines in 1989. Annie has said they did the early years' work entirely by hand, picking each harvest themselves with a few friends while Bob crushed the grapes through the night; their first wine won a medal at the national English Wine competition, marking the beginning of Camel Valley's journey as an award winning vineyard.
