Autumn Bliss at Godstone Vineyards

Godstone Vineyard
Godstone Vineyards has grown Seyval Blanc and Bacchus in the Surrey Hills since 1985, making traditional-method sparkling and still wine by hand.
Godstone Vineyards planted its first vines in 1985 on a south-facing slope of free-draining Upper Greensand in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where slabs of dense ragstone in the soil hold the day's heat into the night. The two varieties grown, Seyval Blanc and Bacchus, are harvested by hand each October by family, friends and volunteers, and made into wine in the traditional method used in Champagne, with a second fermentation in the bottle.
No standing walk-in access. Visits are on scheduled Open Days only, booked online or by emailing to register, with wine and a charcuterie and cheese platter served alongside a self-guided walk through the vines.
Half a mile north of the M25 at Junction 6, off the A22, following the brown tourist signs into Quarry Road. Metrobus 400 stops at the 'Quarry Road' request stop at the bottom of Godstone Hill, a five-minute walk away, with a caution to take care crossing the fast-moving road. The station named Godstone is actually three miles away in South Godstone; Caterham, Woldingham and Oxted are each closer, at about two miles.
