Hattingley Valley Wines

Hattingley Valley Wines

Hattingley Valley is a Hampshire winery founded by a former lawyer in 2008, now home to a Master of Wine and a 450-tonne winery that also makes wine for growers across the south.

Named Best Aged/Vintage Cuvée at the WineGB Awards 2026.

Before any vines went in, surveys of the land turned up a rare butterfly — the discovery Hattingley Valley later adopted as its emblem. The land's owner, Simon Robinson, a lawyer for 24 years before he planted the first vines in 2008 on the 25-acre chalky, south-facing site he had found, called on Plumpton-trained winemaker Emma Rice to help him start it. A second site, New Site, followed in 2011, bringing the estate's own vineyards to seven hectares.
