Lokkelebery Vineyard

Lokkelebery Vineyard

Lokkelebery is a vineyard on an arable farm beside Old Welwyn in Hertfordshire, growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for still and sparkling wine. Visits are through its vineyard events.

Lockley Farm was an arable farm before it was a vineyard, and it remains one. The vines went in over two days in May 2022, and the farm grows wheat for biscuits, barley for beer and oats for cereal around them. The name is older than the planting - Lokkelebery was one of three early names used for the manor of Lockleys in the 14th century, and its Old English ending, 'bery', indicated a mound.

The estate has no tasting room or shop on site, so walk-ins are not possible. Visits come through the estate's vineyard events, which are walking tours through a working vineyard. The site says private tours and weddings will not run during 2027 while building work takes place.
