Lympstone Manor Vineyard

Lympstone Manor is a Georgian country house hotel overlooking the Exe estuary in Devon, with its own vineyard and shepherd huts at the foot of the vines.

When Michael Caines first came to Lympstone Manor it was a dilapidated mansion. He made it a hotel, and planted a vineyard on the southwest-facing parkland that runs down towards the Exe estuary, reasoning that most of Europe's great vineyards sit beside rivers. His own line is that the vine likes to see the water. The vineyard lies within the hotel grounds, 17,500 vines of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay.
