Mersea Island Vineyard

Mersea Island Vineyard is a family-owned vineyard and brewery on the Essex coast, with a shop, café and bed and breakfast among the vines.

Mersea Island Vineyard was bought in 1997 by Roger and Jacqui Barber, when the site already carried vines (Muller Thurgau, Ortega and Rechsteiner vines) — grown in the island's sandy, coastal soil — and an old barn. The couple have since planted further vines, widening the range the estate can draw on, including most recently Solaris, Caberay, Noir and Rondo vines.
