Mousehall Country Estate

Mousehall Country Estate

Mousehall is a medieval Sussex estate near Wadhurst producing wine as Tidebrook and spirits as Mousehall Spirits, with a stay in its 18th-century oast house.

Scored 97 at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2026, the highest of any English or Welsh entry in that edition.

Mousehall was first recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086, and stood derelict until Gary and Kathy Jordan bought the overgrown estate in 2017. Gary trained as a geologist before working as a winemaker and helping build Jordan Wine Estate in Stellenbosch; in 2021 he converted an abandoned barn on the site into a combined distillery and winery. Christy Jordan, who trained as a distiller in London and Ireland, now runs Mousehall Spirits alongside Tidebrook, the estate's wine label.
