Newick Wine Estate

Newick Wine Estate

Newick Wine Estate is a vineyard at Ketches Farm in East Sussex, where booked summer tours of the vines end with a tasting of each of its wines.

Newick Wine Estate's vines are at Ketches Farm, in an East Sussex village that was once a centre of soft-fruit growing. Newick's market gardens produced blackcurrants, strawberries and a dessert gooseberry called the Newick Leveller, and Ketches Farm was at the heart of that trade. Before the vines, its fields were grazed by sheep. Charlotte and Jonathan Sharpe, who have lived at Ketches since 2007, commissioned an independent study of the land's potential for vines in 2021 and planted in the spring of 2023.
