Oastbrook Estate

Oastbrook Estate

Oastbrook is a family-run vineyard and winery on the River Rother in East Sussex, growing both still and sparkling wine on a sandstone-and-clay ridge near Bodiam Castle.

Oastbrook takes its name from the stream that runs past the farm: "oast" for the kiln that once dried hops there, "brook" for the water beside it. Winemaker America Brewer, who grew up climbing a vine on the wall of her childhood home in Bahia, Brazil, studied wine production at Plumpton College and planted the first vines on the site in 2018, in an oast house that had once been used by Guinness to dry its own hops.
