Ridgeview Wine Estate

Ridgeview Wine Estate

Ridgeview is a family-run sparkling wine estate on the chalk of the South Downs in Sussex, planted in 1995 by Mike and Christine Roberts.

Served at the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations. Winner of the International Wine Challenge Gold Medal.

Mike and Christine Roberts planted Ridgeview's first vines at Ditchling Common in 1995, on chalk that runs in the same seam as Champagne, a hundred kilometres south. They chose Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and the traditional method rather than the German varieties most English growers planted at the time, and the first release won English Wine of the Year in 2000.
