Rothley Wine Estate is a one-woman, volunteer-run vineyard in Leicestershire, making still, sparkling and hedgerow fruit wines.

The vines at Rothley Wine Estate are rooted in glacial deposits along Rothley Brook, carrying quartzite pebbles that geologists trace back through an ancient river system from Brittany some 250 million years ago. At the foot of the vineyard, Kingfishers Pool is fed by a waterfall tumbling over granite boulders the Romans brought from Mountsorrel to dam a mill pond that later collapsed.
