Welland Valley Vineyard
Welland Valley Vineyard is a small research vineyard and cider orchard two miles from Market Harborough, established in 1991 by David and Jane Bates.
Welland Valley Vineyard began as a research planting: David and Jane Bates established the 2.5-acre vineyard and cider orchard in 1991, on a south-facing slope two miles southwest of Market Harborough, in well-drained loam over Jurassic clay loam. A small winery on site presses, vinifies and bottles the grapes.
Wine and cider sales are generally by appointment, though callers are welcome to stop if a car is on site. A guided walk through the vineyard and winery, with a tasting, can also be arranged separately.
