Sealwood Estate & Vineyard

Sealwood Estate & Vineyard

Sealwood Estate & Vineyard is a vineyard and historic cottage estate in the National Forest near Linton, south Derbyshire. Vines were planted in 2008 around a Grade II listed 18th-century cottage.

Sealwood Estate & Vineyard lies in the National Forest near Linton, in south Derbyshire. The vines went into the ground in 2008, on land that already carried an older story. In October 1773 the writer William Combe proposed a retreat cottage for the Reverend Thomas Gresley of Netherseal, built as an escape from his usual home at Netherseal Hall. The cottage stood empty from at least the 1940s and came close to demolition until 2004, when local listing inspectors and the District Council gave it a spot listing as a Grade II structure.
