Vineyard Open Day
On request

Tennygrove is a young vineyard near Bath, planted in 2023 by Ally and Rupert after an estate agent's aside led them to Upper Shockerwick's farmland.
Ally and Rupert found their vineyard by accident: house-hunting near Bath, their estate agent mentioned that the farmland at Upper Shockerwick had already been analysed and rated ideal for English vines. Having watched the film A Good Year at least once a year for a decade, they were sold on the idea. Once they had unpacked, they had the hill farm, until then used only for grazing, tested for elevation, sunlight, weather and soil, and picked the field next to the farmhouse for its near-perfect pH and shelter from the wind.
A guided tasting of the four Prelude sparkling wines takes place out among the vines and must be prebooked. The ground is uneven, with some nettles, so a rug and picnic are welcomed for anyone who wants to sit and relax. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, and children need no ticket.
Parking is available on site, or the vineyard can be reached on foot from Bathford or Batheaston, through a wild flower meadow.
