Towthorpe Vineyard

Towthorpe Vineyard

A family vineyard on a farm just outside York, making still wines in a converted stable near the River Foss, with booked summer vineyard tours.

Towthorpe Vineyard is a family vineyard on a farm just outside York, at 54°N and close to the River Foss. The family came to the farm in 2010 as first-generation winemakers and put in the first vines, Bacchus and Solaris, in April 2018. The vines are on a south-facing block. Its rows are 2m apart with the vines 1.3m apart, to give the grapes as much sunlight as possible.
