Vale Vineyard – Gwinllan y Dyffryn

Vale Vineyard – Gwinllan y Dyffryn

An award winning family vineyard in the Vale of Clwyd, North Wales, where guided tours of the vines end with a tasting at its restored barn.

Named Wales Regional Trophy at the WineGB Awards 2026.

The Davies family, who say they are the first grape farmers of the Vale of Clwyd, run Vale Vineyard – Gwinllan y Dyffryn on the lower slopes of the Clwydian Range. Gwen and Rhys both grew up on local farms and studied at agricultural college before long careers in the farming community. Gwen runs the vines and the business day to day. At harvest, the wider family and friends come in to pick the crop by hand.

Cellar door tastings

Tasting comes at the end of a booked guided tour of the vines: a selection of wines and a cheese platter in Ysgubor Gwin, the restored wine barn, or on its patio. Bottles can be bought at the cellar door, but the site describes no walk-in tasting.
