A family-run vineyard and winery in a wooded valley near St Austell, making still and sparkling wine and a brandy from its own Cornish grapes.
The press at Bosue Vineyard is a Hydropress, driven by nothing but water pressure, and the crusher and destemmer beside it are worked by hand. The only electricity the winemaking needs is for a pump, and solar panels supply it. Paul and Liz Sibley make every wine on the farm, from crushing the grapes to bottling and labelling. The sparkling wines are made in the traditional method and turned in pupitre racks for several weeks. Each bottle is then neck-chilled, disgorged by hand and closed on a hand-operated corker. The white and rosé are usually bottled in April or May, a job that has involved the whole family over the years.
Cellar door tastings
Visits are arranged by phone or email and are for buying wine and collecting orders. Walk-in visits are not available, and the site says there are no facilities for individual tours or tastings. A pre-booked group, usually of ten or more, can sometimes be accommodated.

Satnav brings visitors close to Bosue but not to the door. The vineyard is north of the minor road between Grampound and Heligan, and the way in follows the brown signs to Lower Barn, the neighbouring property. Brown vineyard signs in the area lead to Polmassick Vineyard instead.
