Crouch Ridge Vineyard

Crouch Ridge Vineyard

Crouch Ridge Estate is a family-run vineyard on the River Crouch at Althorne in Essex, with a Wine Barn for tastings, food and wine to buy.

Ross and Samantha planted Crouch Ridge in 2010, overlooking the River Crouch in the village of Althorne. Both are fifth-generation farmers on land that has gone from a dairy herd to arable cereals to vines over that time. An oyster shack once sold oysters from the beds at Althorne Creek here too, and the estate's restaurant now pairs its own sparkling wine with oysters from the same creek.
