Danebury Vineyards

Danebury Vineyards

Danebury Vineyards is a small Hampshire estate on the old paddocks of a nineteenth-century racehorse yard, making sparkling and still wine since 1988.

Danebury's seven acres of vines grow on the old paddocks of a nineteenth-century racehorse yard, on chalk and flint slopes above Stockbridge in Hampshire. The stables once trained horses for the nobility of the day. The racing venue itself closed in 1898, though training continued into the mid-1900s, before the paddocks became the private estate that Danebury now farms.

Small groups are shown round the seven-acre vineyard by the Estate Manager, then taste two wines with homemade nibbles in the tasting room, finishing in the underground chalk cellar where the wines are stored. Visits run on a handful of dates through spring and summer, and places are limited.
