Hawkswood is a small batch, family-run vineyard in Thurston, whose wines have won a Wine GB medal every year for six years running.
Michael and Irene both worked in hospitals before taking up wine, after being inspired by local wines in Norfolk. Production is kept very small at around 1,500 and 3,000 bottles a year, with the family preparing the production at every stage themselves. The tasting room, completed in 2022, is built around their own family home in Thurston, and wines are sold exclusively at the cellar door.
Cellar door tastings
Tastings come with a tour of the vineyard and winery, booked on dated slots for individuals and couples or as private tours for groups of eight to twenty. Cellar door tastings are available on request on an ad-hoc basis, led by the family.
