Heron Farm is a 17-acre vineyard and farm near Honiton in Devon, founded by food writer Mark Diacono, with a restaurant and guided vineyard tours.
Heron Farm's 17 acres run alongside the River Otter, growing an unusual mix of crops beside the vines: medlars, quinces, pecans and Sichuan pepper next to roughly 3,000 vines of Solaris, Pinot Noir and Seyval Blanc. The Sichuan pepper goes into the farm's own MaLa gin. Food writer Mark Diacono founded the farm and chose the planting.
Wine is sampled on the guided Vineyard Tour, which also takes in the orchard and kitchen garden; the shop and restaurant are open without booking and wine can be tasted there.
The nearest railway stations are Honiton, 2.5 miles away, and Feniton, 4.8 miles away, with onward travel by bus or taxi. The nearest bus stop is a five-minute walk from the Honiton end of the village, on routes 44 and 44a.
