Laurel Vines is a family-run vineyard and winery in the small hamlet of Aike, between Beverley and Driffield in East Yorkshire, planted on Cretaceous chalk beneath glacial clay. The first vines went in in 2010; the vineyard has grown from 2,000 vines then to 15,500 across twelve varieties today, including the three Champagne grapes.
The seasonal Wine Bar, March to September, pours a glass of the estate's own still wine for £6, with light bites; drop in during the session, dogs welcome. No dates are currently scheduled, check the website.
