Discover Louma Wines
On request
Louma is a Dorset country hotel with its own vineyard, where staying guests can book a guided tasting of its sparkling wines.
Louma's vines are planted in two named blocks, the Top Vineyard and the Bottom Vineyard. Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grow in both, and the Top Vineyard carries two further varieties. Guests arrive down a driveway through an open area called Harvest, which is planted with trees and seasonal crops and used as pasture for sheep and cows, and the estate points out the view on the way down over the vineyards and to the sea.
The road in from the B165 passes through white gates at Portobello Cross, after the turning for Fishpond, then runs four miles along Champernhayes Lane to the hotel. Arriving guests follow the drive down to the Main Barn, where reception is. A private transfer in a Louma vehicle can be arranged from Axminster station.
