Midland Press

Midland Press

An urban winery in a Birmingham railway arch, making small-batch wine from grapes grown across the middle of England, with ticketed tastings in the arch.

Midland Press makes its wine inside a railway arch in central Birmingham, where the temperature holds steady. Richard Stenton founded the business in 2024. The grapes come from growers across the middle of England, and are fermented in barrels or small tanks in small batches that are then blended by hand. Every wine is bottled on site by hand, unfined and unfiltered.

Visits are ticketed guided tastings inside the arch, pouring four of the wines alongside a walk through how they are made. The tasting is standing, and warm clothes are advised in winter. Walk-in tastings are not available. Private tastings for small groups are arranged by email.
