New Hall Wine Estate is a family-run Essex vineyard on ground with vines recorded since 1120, and wine drunk at the sealing of the Magna Carta.
New Hall's vines stand on ground with a much older history: local parish records place the first vineyard in Purleigh in 1120, three acres by All Saints Church, and the estate says its wine reached the Crown by 1163 and was drunk at the sealing of the Magna Carta in 1215.
