Northbrook Vineyard

Northbrook Vineyard

A Hampshire vineyard near Bishops Waltham with much of its land left to wildlife, growing Bacchus and grapes for sparkling wine. Seasonal tours and events.

Northbrook leaves 60% of its land for wildlife, and the vines share the estate with grassland, hedgerows, copse and woodland. It lies in the foothills of the South Downs near Bishops Waltham, close to the source of the River Hamble, and is bounded at its southern end by a winterbourne and water meadows. Native hedgerows have been planted as corridors and nesting cover for wildlife. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust advised on the areas set aside for wildlife, and a programme of wildlife surveys measures the number and diversity of species on the estate. In 2023 the estate recorded 20 additional bird species.
