Oast Wood

Oast Wood

A 20-year sheep farm near Tenterden in Kent, Oast Wood still uses sheep and heavy horses to work the vines, with wine poured in a converted cart shed.

Oast Wood sits on a grassland farm near Tenterden in Kent that the Sidebottom family had grazed with Herdwick and Texel sheep for 20 years before planting vines in 2021. The sheep still graze the vineyard each winter, and heavy horses are used for vineyard work instead of tractors, as part of a wider focus on soil health that has left some of the farm's wildflower meadows undisturbed for over ten years.
