A privately run hillside vineyard in Tintern, with a farm shop, a self-guided walk round the vines and views of the Wye Valley from the top.
Parva Farm is a vineyard on a hillside just above the A466 in Tintern. The estate says some believe the slope was once a Roman vineyard, and that if not, it was almost certainly the site of Tintern Abbey's vineyards, because good south-facing sites are few and far between in this area. The evidence it points to is on the farm itself. There is a 'Roman style' spring in the vineyard, along with stone-built culverts and an old sunken way.
Cellar door tastings
The site describes no tasting, but the wines are sold in the small farm shop, and visitors can follow a self-guided walk round the vineyard marked by arrows and information boards. Visits outside the shop's hours are arranged by phone.
