Red Wharf Bay Vineyard

Red Wharf Bay Vineyard

Red Wharf Bay Vineyard overlooks the Anglesey bay it's named after, where a guided tour and tasting comes with Anglesey Tapas and Spanish ceramics for sale.

Red Wharf Bay Vineyard's owner first planted 75 Solaris vines on a whim in 2010, on a bank his wife wanted tamed — by his own account, mismanaged. A plan to plant a proper vineyard in Andalucia was blocked by European rules on new plantings, so he returned to Anglesey and replanted 400 vines of Solaris and Rondo in 2016, this time properly.

Visits are by appointment only — turning up without booking will usually find the vineyard closed. The owner leads the tour personally, tasting three wines with Anglesey Tapas afterwards in the wine garden or conservatory overlooking the bay.
