Sandridge Barton

Sandridge Barton is a working vineyard and winery on the banks of the River Dart in South Devon, tracing its wine back to the Sharpham Estate's first plantings in 1981.

Named Best Orange Wine at the WineGB Awards 2025.

Sandridge Barton traces back to Maurice and Ruth Ash's Sharpham Estate, where trial plantings went into the ground in 1981 and produced the estate's first wines by the late 1980s. Duncan Schwab joined as a vineyard worker in 1992 and became winemaker, staying in the role for 16 years before handing over to Charlie Brown, who was named Head Winemaker in September 2026. Duncan remains the company's CEO and Wine Director.
