Stanlake Park Wine Estate
A Berkshire wine estate near Twyford that makes its wine in a listed 17th-century barn, with a cellar shop and wine bar in a Victorian greenhouse.
Stanlake Park makes its wine in a grade II listed Reformation barn from the 17th century. The land was held by Patrick Earl of Salisbury in 1166, when it was called Hinton Pipard, and the manor house was built in 1626. A stained window in a first-floor bedroom carries the Stuart royal coat of arms, and a clock tower on the estate is inscribed 'Revolution 1688'. The cellar shop and wine bar are in a converted Victorian greenhouse that overlooks the walled garden vineyard. The wine bar's garden, surrounded by roses, looks onto the winery.
Tasting flights of three wines are poured without booking at the wine bar, which shares a converted Victorian greenhouse with the cellar shop. Guided tours of the vineyard and winery, and a seated tasting with cheese, are booked ahead. Tours and tastings are for over-18s only.
