Swanaford is a family-run vineyard near Exeter, Devon, with an open cellar door for sparkling and still wines, guided walks and holiday cottages.
At Swanaford, 10,000 vines went into the ground in a single day, planted by a visiting team using laser-guided equipment on south-east-facing slopes in Devon's Teign Valley. Ben and Caroline Goulden had moved from London to plant them, in 2013, aiming to make English sparkling and still wine.
Stay on the B3212 to find Swanaford. If a sat nav tries to send you up towards the Bridford Inn instead of Swanaford Road, head back to the main road towards Dunsford and it should reroute.
