Tinwood Estate

Tinwood Estate

Tinwood Estate is a former lettuce farm turned South Downs vineyard, with a walk-in wine kitchen and eight lodges to stay in among the vines.

Tinwood was an iceberg lettuce farm before it was a vineyard. Aad Tukker bought the land in 1985 to grow salad; his son Art planted the first 28 acres of vines in 2007, and the estate now runs to more than 110 acres of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier on the flinty chalk at the edge of the South Downs National Park.
