Winding Wood Vineyard

Winding Wood Vineyard

A small, Demeter-certified biodynamic vineyard in West Berkshire, Winding Wood sells sparkling wine direct from the cellar door.

Winding Wood's owners planted vines in 2012 after deciding a paddock of grazing sheep would be more rewarding as a vineyard. They have kept it deliberately small ever since: 2,500 vines, in two fields of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, on free-draining loam over flint and chalk. After a three-year conversion, the vineyard became both organic and Demeter-certified in November 2024, one of only a handful in England and Wales to hold the biodynamic certification.
