Woodfine Wine (Newbarn Farm)

Woodfine Wine (Newbarn Farm)

Woodfine Wine is an organic, zero-addition vineyard and winery at Newbarn Farm in the Chiltern Hills, near Seer Green, founded in 2021.

Richard Woodfine, an Earth Scientist who also runs a charity restoring forests, peatland, waterways and seagrass meadows across the UK, founded Woodfine Wine in 2021 at Newbarn Farm, a 300-year-old smallholding in the Chiltern Hills near Seer Green. The vineyard, farm and winemaking are all Soil Association certified organic, and Woodfine, a self-taught winemaker, works the land without heavy machinery or tractors, using hand-powered equipment wherever possible and renewable electricity for the rest. PIWI grapes, disease-resistant varieties that need far less spraying, now cover 20% of the vineyard, and have needed none at all to date.
