TASTE Worcestershire Supper Night

Astley Vineyard
Astley Vineyard is a family-run estate in Worcestershire, one of the oldest commercial vineyards in the UK, planted in 1971.
Astley Vineyard was planted in 1971 on the Severn Valley, one of the oldest commercial vineyards in the UK. Three families have run it in turn: the Bache family, who established it; the Daniels family, who professionalised the viticulture from the early 90s; and the Haywood family, who took over in 2017. What was once four plots on a 10-acre holding is now a single 5-acre plot, on Triassic sandstone loam, sloping east, 95m above sea level, half a mile from the River Severn.
Tastings happen in the Tasting Room, which is wheelchair accessible; there is no cafe or restaurant on site. The only guided tasting is bundled with a paid vineyard tour and walk.
A brown tourism sign on the B4196 between Astley and Shrawley is the landmark to look for. The site advises pre-booking a taxi from the nearest station and does not recommend the local bus, which it calls unreliable.
