Castlewood Vineyard

Castlewood is a small vineyard below the Musbury Castle hill fort in east Devon, with an open cellar door, sparkling and still wines, and its own holiday cottages.

Castlewood's vines run down a south-facing hillside below Musbury Castle, an ancient hill fort above the river Axe in east Devon. The vineyard was planted between 2006 and 2009, with a further two hectares of Bacchus added in 2016. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier make up three-quarters of the plantings and go into the sparkling range. The rest is blended into the Reserve and non-vintage wines, and grapes from the vineyard's steepest, most exposed block go into a single still wine, Devon Minnow.
