Little Bursted Vineyard

Little Bursted Vineyard

Little Bursted, also known as Quiet Land, is a young single-grower vineyard in Kent's North Downs, with its first wines due in 2027.

Little Bursted trades as Quiet Land, named for the quietest stretch of the Pett Bottom valley in the North Downs, where the owner bought two plots of land in 2020 and planted vines two years later. The site is named for Bursted Hall, a 15th-century farmhouse at its northern edge. Its slopes face east-south-east and rise from 80 to just under 100 metres, steep enough to be close to the limit of what a conventional tractor can farm; the valley floor traps a frost pocket each winter and spring, the cold air settling along the road “like a little swirling bath of dry ice.”
