Little Waddon Vineyard is a small vineyard on Dorset's Jurassic Coast, with a shepherd's hut for overnight stays among the vines.
Little Waddon Vineyard sits at the base of south-facing chalk and limestone downs at Langton Herring, on Dorset's Jurassic Coast, with soil of loam, flint and chalk over ancient Kimmeridge clay. It shares a microclimate with Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, a few miles west, where the valley opens onto Lyme Bay, and the vines look out over that same valley to Chesil Beach. Woodpeckers and swallows work the vines in summer, joined by hunting bats. Pheasants and owls take over as the light goes in winter.
Cellar door tastings
Visits are booked in advance: a guided walk through the vines with Simon ends in a seated tasting on the terrace or in the tasting room. Under-18s are not hosted, and dogs are welcome on leads.
