Missing Gate Vineyard

Missing Gate Vineyard

Missing Gate is a family-run vineyard in the Crouch Valley, Essex, farmed for three generations, with wines named for an old local land-measuring custom.

Missing Gate's land has been farmed by the same family for three generations in the Crouch Valley. Roman coins, steelyard beams and trading weights have surfaced in the vineyards above Fenn Creek, evidence of an old trading post that once dealt in salt, and a Bronze Age axe head has turned up more recently.
