Wildshark Vineyard
Wildshark Vineyard
Wildshark is a Kent vineyard on chalk and greensand near Harrietsham, growing Chardonnay, Bacchus and three Pinot varieties, with trails through the vines.
Wildshark takes its name from the sea that covered the North Downs in the Cretaceous period, when megalodon and white sharks swam over what is now the vineyard. What they left behind is chalk and greensand, rich in fossils. The estate grows its Chardonnay on the chalk and its Bacchus on the greensand, with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Meunier alongside.
Cellar door tastings
The shop keeps regular opening hours. Tastings come on the pre-booked walking tours, which are for over-18s and need at least six people, or with a wood-fired pizza and a flight of three wines, booked ahead and served in the tasting room by an open fire.
