Penn Oast Vineyard
Penn Oast Vineyard
A family vineyard around a former hop-drying oast at the foot of the North Downs in Kent, open on event days and for pre-booked private tours.
Penn Oast was originally used to dry hops, when hop fields were a common feature of the Kentish countryside. The oast house is the Davis family's home, and the vines surround it. The family set out to keep the area rural while growing grapes on the land instead of hops, an opportunity they put down to climate change.
Cellar door tastings
Visits are only on the vineyard's own event days, or on a pre-booked private tour for a small group arranged through the contact page. There are no walk-in tastings. On event days the Penn Oast bar sells the wines by the glass or bottle, and seating is first come, first served.
