Wiston Estate Winery

Wiston Estate Winery

Wiston Estate is a family-run Sussex vineyard whose sparkling wine was used to christen the royal yacht Britannia in 2015.

The Goring family has owned Wiston Estate since 1743, when Elizabeth Fagge married her neighbour Sir Charles Matthew Goring. Harry Goring returned from South Africa with his wife Pip in 1972; in 2006 their son Richard and his wife Kirsty came back from farming in western Canada to help plant the estate's first vineyard, sixteen acres on a south-facing slope. In 2008 an original Coquard wine press, made in France, was installed at North Farm — the first of its kind imported into the UK.
