Bride Valley is a Dorset vineyard founded by the late wine merchant Steven Spurrier, now run by Alasdair Warren, whose family has made cider locally since 1922.
Named Trophy at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2025.
Bride Valley was founded in 2009 by the late Steven Spurrier, the wine merchant who organised the Judgement of Paris, the blind tasting in which Californian wines beat their French rivals. He planted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier on his wife Bella's sheep farm in Litton Cheney, and the first vintage followed in 2011. All of Bride Valley's wine is grown and made on the West Dorset estate, from the Brut Reserve and Bella Rosé Sparkling to the Blanc de Blancs.
Travelling west on the A35, the turning is Whiteway Cross, on the left immediately after a bus stop, then down a steep hill. A narrow road passes a thatched bus stop to the vineyard entrance and a long gravel track. From the east, the Chalk Pit Lane turning is very easy to miss. Large coaches are not suitable, and minibuses of up to 20 seats should contact the vineyard first.
